Congratulations to Andrew for recently completing his 2nd Module with LAP! Halfway there!
River City Construction offers an Electric Lineman Career Development Program in partnership with Northwest Line College’s four-year program. After being employed with RCC for six months, you can register to join the program. The program consists of four modules, with each module taking one year and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training to complete. Upon finishing all four modules and accumulating 8,000 hours of on-the-job training, you will be classified as an A-Class Lineman.
There is a cost to enter the program, which can be paid in full or through payroll deduction. After completing each module, participants will receive a certificate and an incentive bonus for their achievements.

From Permit to Pro: Complete Your CDL with River City
River City Construction is proud to partner with Beaufort County Community College to offer a fast-track Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class designed for students with some prior driving experience. This 8-week course combines online learning with a hands-on lab to prepare you for your Class-A CDL.
The first seven weeks are completed online, covering all the required theory. Then, during the final week, students attend an in-person lab in Washington, NC, to get real driving practice and prepare for the CDL test.
After the lab week, you’ll have the chance to test with a certified examiner and earn your license.
River City even helps cover hotel costs during the lab week and pays your wages if you pass your test. If you’re interested in joining the CDL program in the future, start thinking about the requirements now—like having a learner’s permit, a clean drug screen, and a strong interest in the open road!

Do you have a baby on the way?
Welcoming a new baby is an exciting time, and it's important to remember that adding your newborn to your health insurance plan must be done within 30 days of birth. This 30-day window is considered a qualifying life event, allowing you to make changes to your benefits outside of open enrollment.
If your baby is not added within this timeframe, you may have to wait until the next open enrollment period (DECEMBER!!) to enroll them in coverage. Be sure to submit the necessary documentation as soon as possible to ensure your child is covered without any gaps.
